Interactive Installation - Speaker, Microphone, Monitor, Excel (2016)

Stonebreaker consists of three components.

The Idea: Stonebreakers by Gustave Courbet

The Orator: Attempts to communicate The Idea to The Listener. Reduces The Idea to a finite resolution image and speaks aloud the color of its parts in order.

The Listener :Attempts to imagine The Idea as described by The Orator. Creates an image on screen by recording and interpreting what it hears.

An image of The Idea is slowly produced on screen - reduced by The Orator, recorded by The Listener, and distorted by the ambient sounds and speech of human viewers.
